Why a blog?

Hi flower fam! Welcome. You might be here thinking, why is this girl starting a blog? Isn’t that a little 2010? And maybe it is.

Before I get carried away. Let me introduce myself!

Hi, I’m Megan. The sweat and smiles behind all the flowers here. I’m usually the one lagging behind on hikes caught up in the beauty of the wildflowers.  I live in beautiful Southern California with my husband and instead of fur babies (or real babies) we have business babies. I run Fully Bloomed Florals (amidst a few other things) and he (the entrepreneur that he is) has one official business and plans for a few more.

Fully Bloomed Florals represents a girl with hands full of flowers and a heart full of love for people. Here at Fully Bloomed Florals, everything we do we do it fully. Whether we are designing for a wedding, connecting with vendors, or sourcing candle votives-- we do it with our full selves, full heart, and full of effort and intention. We take a limited amount of clients so we can devote ourselves fully to your wedding or event, and get caught up in all the little details. My heart is to flower up my world and yours, with a special focus on weddings. I love love, and I love weddings, but I especially love how flowers can really MAKE a wedding day and a venue come alive.

But back to why I’m starting a blog. So much of my job over the last few years has turned into educating brides, clients, and vendors about the realities of flowers and the floral industry. Some of this includes pricing, seasonality of blooms, and my comments on what is “trending.” And that is what I am hoping to share with you! Whether you are DIYing your wedding flowers, are considering booking me, or already have – I want to offer some of my wisdom both from my successes and my failures and mishaps. Education is so important in any industry and I think it helps bridge the gap between industry vendors and potential clients. We are all on the same team right? So instead of getting frustrated or letting the “mystery” of the industry leave us feeling disconnected - let’s have some transparency and connection.

So tag along with me as I tackle questions like “What greenery should I use instead of eucalyptus?” or “What do I ask my florist during our initial consultation?” or “What flowers are available for my wedding in November?”  If there are questions you have, please ask, and we will feature them on the blog.

The blog will also be a space where I share some beautiful snapshots of the lovely weddings our clients have and to highlight some of our most recent designs.

And who knows, maybe we’ll discuss business questions that you might have too. I’m open!
